Integrator Lands A $50,000 UID Installation For A Government Supplier <i>By Matt Angerer, Retail Solutions Online</i>
12/14/2007
As a VAR, can you effectively articulate to a potential client the benefits of contracting with you, instead of trying to achieve UID compliance on their own? For A2B Tracking Solutions, continually educating clients on what it means to be UID compliant is the first step. Its second step is providing value-adds in terms of business-to-business data exchange services and compliance-based software upgrades after the initial install. Taking this approach won A2B a recent $50,000 installation with a DoD supplier and is a contributing factor to the VAR’s projected 150% sales growth next year. ECM: It’s A Whole New Ballgame — December Edition: SharePoint-Based ECM Solutions<br><i>By Mike Ball, Clearview Software</i>
12/3/2007
The reason SharePoint is resonating so clearly and in an increasing way to business organizations as they examine their ECM strategy is fairly simple. In today’s business landscape, it’s common to see Windows as the desktop OS of choice, Windows Server as the network infrastructure, MS-SQL Server as the database engine, and MS Office as the desktop suite on the information workers’ desktops. Since SharePoint fits seamlessly into this environment, it becomes a painless and somewhat simplistic decision for companies to extend the ECM strategies toward SharePoint. Although the Wal-Mart initiative brings attention to RFID and increases component volumes, the functionality that Wal-Mart requires is specific only to the Wal-Mart ROI model. RFID, however, has many features and applications with significantly more ROI possibilities. Submitted by MIKOH Corporation
