DataPath Selected As Prime Contractor For DoD Worldwide Satellite Systems Program
Duluth, GA - DataPath, Inc., a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks has been selected by the U.S. Army as one of six prime contractors for the Worldwide Satellite Systems (WWSS) program. WWSS is a comprehensive Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract for satellite communications networks and related systems and services for the Department of Defense (DoD) and non-DoD federal agencies. The WWSS contract is for five years and has a ceiling of $5B for all projects the six prime contractors implement.
WWSS is a joint partnership between the project manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS) and the project manager, Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (PM WIN-T). DataPath is qualified to sell solutions in all the categories of terminals represented in the WWSS program, from small portable systems to fixed earth stations, according to the company.
WWSS represents the next generation of government contract procurements, intended to enable federal agencies to react quickly to emerging government communications requirements. Under the WWSS program, vendors will offer turn- key, rapid-response solutions for hardware, software and other satellite broadband and baseband systems and services, drastically reducing the turnaround time between proposals and implementation of solutions via delivery orders. The program will support all federal communications missions, including disaster relief and homeland security efforts.
