GSA Access Group introduces Sandra Scanlan Small Business Subject Matter Expert and Small Business Liaison.
It is our esteemed pleasure to announce that Sandra Scanlan has recently joined GSA Access Group in St. Petersburg, FL. GSA Access Group is a full-service, government contracting and marketing firm that consults companies how to better market and sell their products or services to governments on a local, state, and federal level. Having retired from the Department of Defense, she brings with her a wealth of experience from her years spent as a federal buyer, small business specialist, contract specialist, administrative contracting officer, and contract administrator. Contract administration involves those activities performed by government officials after a contract has been awarded to determine how well the contractor performed to meet the requirements of the contract. It begins after contract award and continues until the product is accepted, payment is made and disputes are resolved. As such, contract administration constitutes the part of the procurement process that assures that the government receives that for which it has paid. A good contract administration program is essential to improving contractor performance under federal contracts.
A longtime member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), Sandra has served both as President and as National Director of the Atlanta chapter. Most notably, she was a recipient of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. In addition to that honor and as a result of her unwavering support of veteran-owned small businesses, she was bestowed the Champion of Veterans Enterprise Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Most recently, she has working as an independent contractor, assisting various small businesses with proposal and contract preparation, contract administration, and contract opportunities research. Now, with years of expertise under her belt, Sandra looks forward to working with the team at GSA Access Group and joining in their commitment to promote businesses' interests within the Federal Government contracting arena. Her primary functions at GSA Access Group will be fostering the relationship between our clients' businesses and Fed Biz Access, and promoting and advancing the efforts of Prime Contractors to locate small business subcontractors.
