KBR Awarded Facilities Expansion And Renovation Contract For The U.S. Navy

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KBR (NYSE:KBR) announced today that its division BE&K Government Group, LLC (BE&K) has been awarded a $16,755,000 contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid Atlantic (NAVFAC) for the expansion and renovation of a Navy Exchange Building at Naval Station Norfolk.
This contract marks the first major renovation project awarded to BE&K since it was acquired by KBR in July 2008. Work on the project is expected to begin in Norfolk in July 2008, and is expected to be completed by June 2010.

Under the recently awarded contract, BE&K will construct the addition of more than 75,000 square feet to an existing retail space and renovate specified areas of the existing building. BE&K will also execute significant site work including the creation of parking space and driveways, re-pavement of existing parking and the installation of a new storm water management system.
