Case Study: Wastewater Load Monitoring At Airports
When it rains, large quantities of storm water are generated in the extensive surface areas in airports. This storm water can become contaminated by kerosene, chemicals and organic substances from the de-icing of aircraft. The organic load and concentrations are subject to strong fluctuations.
Depending on the actual organic load, the surface storm water is treated, can be discharged directly into surface water, or a canal system. If treatment is required, this is usually done in local sewage treatment plants.
The patented dilution process ensures a very wide measuring range with a minimum amount of maintenance. BOD online measurement using the BIOX-1010 has proven to be very reliable and accurate.
