AMSEC LLC greatly enhanced its logistics capability during 1999 through expansion and acquisition. First, AMSEC LLC acquired the 400-person strong logistics department (former E75) of Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) via the partnership formed by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and NNS. Second, AMSEC LLC acquired the Engineering Services Division of ATS, Inc which is reknowned for development of configuration and validation software products and services. Today, AMSEC LLC has over 700 logistics professionals serving navy and commercial customers in 29 cities.
