Real-time Diagnostics and Resolution Tool

Spotlight on SQL Server is a diagnostic and resolution tool designed to help SQL Server DBAs quickly identify and eliminate bottlenecks. The tool's graphical display shows in real-time the actual server processes and the flow of data.

From the tools' user-defined interface, DBAs can identify bottlenecks using flows, graphs, and visual icons, allowing users to quickly identify congested areas in a database and take corrective action. In addition, the tool will alert DBAs with an audio or visual alarm if any SQL Server component is forming a bottleneck.

From an overview screen, users can view the most active user sessions and SQL statements, locks and deadlocks, disk I/O, and server activity to pinpoint and alleviate problem areas as they occur. If users need more detailed information, they can drill down from any of these views to receive in-depth charts of underlying statistics.
