Humana Military Healthcare Services Awarded Sixth Patient Appointing Services Contract

Louisville, KY - Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS) announced recently that it was awarded its sixth Department of Defense (DoD) Patient Appointing Services contract. Under this contract, HMHS will provide daily operational support for the DoD's Fox Army Health Center at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. The contract is comprised of one base period beginning October 1, 2007, one twelve-month option period and one six-month option period. This contract provides patient appointing services for 10,000 plus TRICARE Prime beneficiaries seeking medical appointments at the Fox Army Health Center.

"This new award allows HMHS to offer a full range of support services to deserving military members and their families in obtaining medical appointments at Fox Army Health Center," said Dave Baker, HMHS president and CEO. "We appreciate the confidence bestowed on us and are very pleased to have this opportunity to bring our expertise to the area."

HMHS was previously awarded similar contracts to provide patient appointing services for the 81st Medical Group at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi; Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; the 74th Medical Group at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; Second Medical Group, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; and in Colorado Springs, Colorado providing services for the Air Force Academy, Peterson Air Force Base and Fort Carson.
