Software to Prevent Racial Profiling

Traffic Stop is new mobile software designed to help law enforcement agencies prevent problems with racial profiling.

Developed for Microsoft's Pocket PC platform, the software enables police departments to collect data on the race, age, and gender of all motorists stopped for traffic violations, as well as the circumstances surrounding the traffic stop. According to the manufacturer, the data will ultimately be used to ensure law enforcement officials are stopping motorists in a fair manner.

This software is the first of a dozen public safety applications the manufacturer will be developing.
