The uCommandSM is a Web-enabled network management tool designed to allow businesses with inbound call centers to quickly adjust toll-free call routing in response to changing call volumes. The tool offers pre-defined alternate call routing plans for rapid implementation as part of disaster recovery planning, and combines multiple routing features on one toll-free number, with new bundled feature pricing.

With this toll-free routing system, customers can combine any or all of the following features on the same toll-free number and make updates to those features on a near-real-time basis:

  • Three-, six-, or 10-digit routing and blocking
  • Time-of-day, day-of-week, and day-of-year routing
  • Percent call allocation
  • Area code blocking
  • Info-digit screening

According to the provider, toll-free customers can tailor service to more closely fit their needs and realize significant cost savings through a new bundled feature pricing structure. The tool also gives customers flexibility and control over their own networks by allowing them to activate or deactivate features as needed without incurring additional set-up fees.

In addition, customers with inbound call centers and multiple locations that need to quickly adjust their service to adapt to changing call volumes can make service changes in near real-time. A customer can combine toll-free features or set up a routing plan or profile to which individual toll free numbers are pointed. The routing plan provides a central point for recording terminating information, including a description and adding or deleting toll-free features. Both individual toll free numbers and large groups of numbers can be re-routed with these routing plans.
