CAPITAL BUDGETING AND PLANNING MODULE

No More Guesswork

VFA.scenario provides quantitative, defensible information in support of funding requests for renovation, capital renewal, deferred maintenance, and new construction. The general condition of each major system within the buildings is identified in terms of the percentage of remaining useful life, letting the user determine where the systems are in relation to their anticipated lifecycle.

An Indispensable Analytical Tool

In VFA.scenario, major repairs, capital projects, and replacements are integrated, with associated costs assigned. The module accurately projects short-and-long term funding scenarios, and illustrates the implications of alternative funding options. Trade-offs between competing funding requirements can be analyzed based on specific user criteria an essential tool when conducting, for example, a repair or replace analysis for severely deficient facilities or a component renewal vs. gut renovation assessment of moderately deficient facilities.

How it works Using predictive models build on industry-standard lifecycles, as well as drawing on the visual inspection data gathered during the facilities audit, VFA.scenario analyses. Variable includes prioritization schemes, timelines, and condition indices such as the FCI.

Drawing on the database information, VFA.scenario analyzes and models each facility's rate of degradation, and generates reports based on the annual reinvestment rate required to replace components, as they become dysfunctional. Users can sort and query by such parameters as:

  • type of deficiency
  • location of deficiency
  • cost
  • trades involved in correction
  • use of space
  • age of building
  • custom parameters as defined by the user
