PCCI uses today's information technologies to manage environmental data for government and industry. PCCI designs, plans, and implements complex software systems to solve environmental problems.

Digital Library Development and Management - PCCI implemented and maintains a digital library that automates the storage, retrieval and status tracking of regulatory compliance reviews. The system contains 1650 digitized facility response plans for the the Department of Transportation's Office of Pipeline Safety. The associated unique database management system assists expert analysis of plans with checklists, document tracking, review criteria and an online help system.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) - PCCI's GIS project team combines environmental and geo-spatial data, of all formats, into user-friendly analytical software. Our primary applications allow quick access to essential information needed for environmental planning and emergency response. PCCI applied satellite imaging and GIS environmental and standard data to create an enhanced coastal digital atlas of the Black Sea for use by U.S. Navy operational planners.

Internet Contingency Planning - PCCI creates computer-aided spill contingency planning using internet data sharing. For the US Navy the project team utilized the power of the Internet to allow Navy planners to easily update the information in their spill contingency plans. The system also integrates powerful spill planning model and analysis tools.

Resource Tracking System - PCCI supervised the development and fielding of a Global Positioning System (GPS) based response asset tracking system to improve spill cleanup operations through the automated tracking of deployed oil spill containment and recovery equipment. The system allows real-time equipment locations to be displayed on remote user selected digitized nautical charts using c-band satellite or VHF communications data links.

Digital Training - PCCI develops interactive CD-ROM or Internet computer training modules to assist training at remote locations (i.e. shipboard) or for facilities with high employee turn over. These personal training modules, incorporating PCCI's Training, Drills, and Exercises as well as operational experience, ensure that employees receive timely and appropriate training.

Data Modeling and Analysis - PCCI engineers and scientists work with NOAA's Office of Emergency Response and Restoration to develop computer risk analysis models and spill trajectory models for applications worldwide. These analyses allows the client to better understand the environmental risks of its operations and supports decisions regarding the allocation of response assets to cover the risks, or modification of operations to decrease the risk.
