VisionStation is a new visualization tool that transforms 2-D computer graphics into 3-D sensory encounters. Designed for individual use, the system features a hemispherical display screen with a 180% perspective that surrounds individual users in computer rendered 3-D graphics right at their workspace. According to the manufacturer, the system represents an intimate convergence of designer and displayed content and gives industry a practical tool for design collaboration.

Seated before the system's hemispherical screen, architects and space designers can enter their models and stroll through floor plans, manufacturers can anticipate possible product design flaws, soldiers can experience simulated combat, government trainees can run specialized equipment, and medical staffs can scrutinize biological infrastructures.

This new visualization tool is manufactured and marketed as a part of the manufacturer's Vision Series. In addition, the system integrates the manufacturer's patented TruTheta imaging technology, which incorporates proprietary optics, software, and screen design to surround the user in the displayed content, thus integrating the operator and the digital information.

The system has existing and easy to use software plug-ins for AutoDesk/Discreet's 3D Studio VIZ and 3D Studio MAX, Dassault's Catia V5,and Autometric's Edge Family. Future development plans include software drivers for Bentley's MicroStation, Multigen-Paradigm's Vega, Alias-Wavefront's Maya, and Muse's Software Developer Environments.
