American Systems' Joint International Weapons And Concepts Directorate Wins $43 Million DoD Contract

Chantilly, VA - American Systems Corporation (ASC) announced that their JIWC Directorate in Dumfries, Virginia was notified of the intent to award a $43 million contract to provide support to the DoD Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program (JNLWP). The JNLWP contract effort extends through 2010.

The DoD Non-Lethal Weapons Program, established in 1997, functions as a centralized program devoted to the coordination and integration of NLW technologies and systems that will support the Services and Combatant Commands. The U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy U.S. Air Force, Special Operations Command, and the U.S. Coast Guard are members of the JNLWP.

"This contract award is a validation of ASC's and the JIWC Directorate's expertise and hard work," said Bill Hoover, President and Chief Executive Officer, American Systems Corporation. "We are proud that our efforts will support our men and women in uniform and we look forward to the continued productive partnership with the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program."

The JIWC Directorate supports the non-lethal weapons program by providing science and technology analysis, target human effects expertise in concept integration, capability-based assessments and acquisition management support.

"This is an exciting opportunity to build upon our proven ability to provide analytical support in the technological, operational, and programmatic realm to the DoD's non-lethal weapons program, helping the JNLWP identify and develop systems specifically designed to support our warfighters in today's complex missions," said Butch Foley, JIWC Vice President.
