The progressive and considerable development which has been involving the mobile telephony field in the last years, as well as the deriving massive distribution of telephones, have originated an evolution of the issues linked to the discrimination of personal belongings while employing a Metal Detector. Mobile phones have become, in all respects, commonly used items, which may be frequently found among an individual's personal belongings.

As such devices, while passing through the Metal Detector, due to the metallic components they have inside, generate a signal higher than some types of weapons present on the market, their certain identification as non dangerous objects from the Metal Detector's side becomes a necessary condition to create a high flow access system.

In order to solve this problem, CEIA SpA proposes its new HI-PE/CF Walk Through Metal Detector which, basing its functioning on an innovative signal analysis system, increases the discrimination threshold between medium sized firearms and mobile phones by 400% with respect to the 02PN8HI-PE. The same kind of analysis increases also the Metal Detector's discriminative capability with respect to the traditional personal belongings.

For this new product CEIA SpA has maintained the HI-PE ELLIPTIC (still on the market) both physical and programming features, so as to make the HI-PE/CF perfectly interchangeable with the HI-PE ELLIPTIC and manageable by means of the same parameters.

The most evident effects caused by the Metal Detector's increase in discrimination, especially in the case of such a high circulation object as the mobile phone, are: diminution of the need of intervention of the personnel for the surveillance of both the incoming and outbound traffic; more comfortable access and, last but not least, the possibility to increase the security level.

Therefore, the HI-PE/CF Walk Through Metal Detector seems to be an innovative solution for the realization of self-managed, high transit flow access systems.
