CIBER Wins Contract With Montgomery County, Maryland To Implement Oracle E- Business Solution
Greenwood Village, CO - CIBER, Inc. recently announced it has won a $22.6M contract with Montgomery County, Maryland to replace its current legacy information technology system with Oracle's E-Business Suite of integrated, global business applications, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The project, which began on January 12, 2009, is slated to be performed in phases over the course of the next 44 months.
The new Oracle ERP system will allow for transformation of business processes and will replace Montgomery County's current legacy mainframe applications. The new system will provide greater reporting functionality, budgeting capabilities, reduction of paperwork, and ease of integration to other applications.
CIBER will serve as prime contractor for the project and will work with selected partners in a collaborative manner to ensure the best results for Montgomery County. The Oracle E-Business ERP solution will include applications for (among others) payroll, benefits administration, personnel administration, general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing, and contract management. These solutions will enable Montgomery County to use one IT system to track nearly all of its operational needs, thereby offering seamless integration of data and business processes for all departments and personnel in the organization.
The project is a major initiative which will significantly streamline operations and increase business process efficiencies. Since the system will provide many features and tools to support the new operations, CIBER will employ its change management methodology to train staff on how to maximize their use of the system and adapt to the new business processes.
"We're honored that Montgomery County recognized CIBER's leadership and industry expertise for this important project," said Russ Wheeler, President of CIBER's Enterprise Solutions division. "Montgomery County is making a critical investment in its infrastructure and is embracing industry best practices. We are confident these actions will help achieve and exceed their goals of providing a high-quality, effective, and efficient business system to not only their employees, but to the residents and customers of Montgomery County Maryland."
Montgomery County has named the project "TransformMCG". The vision of the Transform MCG ERP initiative is to transform the way Montgomery County serves its residents and customers by setting new standards for how government operates.
