Department Of Veterans Affairs Chooses CliniComp Intl.'s Essentris Critical Care Solution

CliniComp Intl., a global provider of clinical documentation systems, announced recently that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) chose CliniComp's Essentris Critical Care solution for VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network. The agreement represents an expansion of the long-term collaboration between CliniComp and VA Heart of Texas, which is standardizing critical care processes and documentation across its enterprise, which includes three health systems that provide care to 1 million veterans in Texas.

Capitalizing on its success using Essentris at two of its facilities — Dallas VA Medical Center and Olin E. Teague Medical Center in Temple — VA Heart of Texas, which is one of the VA's 21 Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs), will implement the solution at its medical center in San Antonio in the spring of 2010.

The contract is the third CliniComp has received from the military and the VA within the past two months. In addition to VISN 17, CliniComp was selected recently as the critical care documentation provider for VA Rocky Mountain Network (VISN 19). Moreover, the U.S. Department of Defense named CliniComp in September 2009 as the inpatient clinical documentation provider for all military treatment facilities.

"CliniComp is very proud to extend its successful partnership with VISN 17 and the VA, as they continue to advance their mission of empowering clinicians," said Alan Portela, CliniComp's President. "The commitment of VISN 17's leadership to using innovative, advanced technology to support the best and safest care possible has been instrumental in establishing CliniComp as the market's inpatient documentation leader. We are looking forward to partnering with them to further improve coordination of care, quality and outcomes."
