Johnson Bros. started in 1929 as a road builder in central Minnesota. Today, we can move more dirt in one hour than our founders moved in one month. In fact, we have completed several high volume earth moving projects where we moved in excess of 8 million yards.

Over the years, Johnson Bros. has specialized in earth moving projects requiring a specific expertise. These have included: major highway work; river and channel construction; earthen dam construction for flood control, water storage and tailings deposition; construction of new gypsum storage fields; capping of gypsum stacks and hazardous materials; mining reclamation and major site development for power plants, industrial facilities, coal load-out facilities, entertainment complexes, and housing developments.

Though many of today's contractors are specialized, a distinct advantage of Johnson Bros. is that we are multi-disciplined. We self-perform all of the site-civil services, which include: dewatering, earthwork, piling, underground utilities and concrete work. This reduces costs and expedites the schedule, versus using multiple sub-contractors.
