GENCO Awarded $23.6 Million Contract For Distribution Services

Pittsburgh, PA -- GENCO announced that its subsidiary, GENCO Infrastructure Solutions (GIS), was selected by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to provide material distribution service support for Defense Distribution Depot, Cherry Point, NC (DDCN). The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity firm fixed-price contract has a base contract period of two years plus three one-year options and is valued at $23.6 million. GIS will commence work on August 1, 2005.

DDCN provides logistics support to military units at installations located in the southeastern U.S. The primary mission of DDCN is to support the 2nd Marine Air Wing, the Marine Corps Air Station (largest in the world) and the Naval Air Systems Command's Naval Aviation Depot, Cherry Point, NC.

Under the contract, GIS will perform all receipt, storage, issue and transportation services for DDCN, while its small business subcontractor, Akima Management Services, will perform packaging, packing, preservation and marking services.
