ICx Technologies Wins $12M Follow-On Cerberus Contract For U.S. Army Under BETSS-C

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ICx Technologies (NASDAQ:ICXT), a developer of advanced sensor technologies for homeland security, force protection and commercial applications, announced today that it has been awarded a $12 million follow-on contract as part of the U.S. Army's multi-billion dollar Base Expeditionary Targeting and Surveillance Sensors-Combined (BETSS-C) program, which is run by the Asymmetric Warfare Office.

ICx will send additional Cerberus mobile surveillance towers for use at bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. ICx had been previously awarded an order for $14 million under this program.

Cerberus is a fully integrated mobile surveillance unit that combines advanced, high-resolution radars with thermal and imaging cameras on a common software platform, making it easier to identify and track potential intruders. Cerberus allows for advanced security by providing superior situational awareness. ICx developed Cerberus jointly with the Army's RDECOM, CERDEC Night Vision, Electronic Sensors Directorate and Customs and Border Patrol.

"We at ICx are pleased to continue to support our armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Adam Strange, president of ICx Tactical Platforms business unit. "We are proud of the functionality of our units, and see this repeat order as great confirmation. Just like on the U.S.' Southern border, Cerberus again has proven its tried-and-trusted performance."
