Implant Sciences Receives First Order From GSA Schedule Contract

WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: IMX), a high technology supplier of sophisticated systems and sensors for the homeland security market and related industries, today announced it has received its first order purchased through its recently awarded General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule Contract. The order, from a component of the Department of Defense, is for two (2) of the Company's Quantum Sniffer™ QS-H150 Portable Explosives Detectors.

"Receiving our first order from the GSA schedule less than two weeks after contract award is a rewarding culmination of our team's efforts. We are enthusiastic about the additional sales opportunities that the GSA contract award has made possible from a wide range of federal, state, and local government agencies and their affiliates," said Richard Meyerhoff, VP of Worldwide Sales and Service for Implant Sciences Corp.

The QS-H150 provides high performance and reliability combined with a very low comparative cost of ownership. Annual maintenance costs are minimal and consist primarily of normal care and cleaning using common, low cost supplies. Calibration is autonomous, continuous, and requires no consumables. Since there are no radioactive materials used in the QS-H150, there are no associated certifications, licenses, inspections, or end-of-life disposal issues for users to contend with. As such, customers have an outstanding, cost effective product available to them in support of efforts to improve their overall security profile and meet mission critical objectives.
