AMSEC LLC provides support to the Navy's In Service Engineering commands operating within the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Space and Warfare Command
AMSEC LLC provides support to the Navy's In Service Engineering commands operating within the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Space and Warfare Command, and Naval Air Systems Command. Our managers, engineers, and technicians understand the vital role these commands play in providing life cycle engineering and management support to the operating fleet and to the acquisition agencies in Washington, DC. Our strategic locations in major Navy ports allow for continued assessment of current shipboard problems and needs. Our In Service Engineering customers rely on this proximity to the operating fleet and routinely call on us to assist their efforts to solve the problems and meet these needs.

AMSEC LLC is committed to In Service Engineering support. Through our experience, we understand all phases of Combat Systems, C4I, and HM&E systems life cycle. Our organization supports these individual disciplines, as well as the total ship systems, and battle group interoperability issues. The Combat Systems, C4I, and HM&E operations are supported by a world class design capability as well as Logistics and Installation organizations located at all major home ports. Our support starts with traditional Acquisition Engineering Agent (AEA) functions and continues through all phases of system development and life cycle support listed below:

  • Strategic Planning for Technology Programs
AMSEC LLC engineers have been involved in strategic planning for technology programs in the area of Distributed Engineering Plant (DEP), training technology programs for the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center, and Battle Force Information Network for NAVSEA Port Hueneme. AMSEC LLC has played a large role in the design and development of a High Performance Computing capability for NAVSEA Dam Neck. AMSEC LLC has lead the way in maintenance philosophies with the fleet maintenance organizations.

  • Concept Development and Requirements Analysis
AMSEC LLC engineers have supported the concept development and requirement analysis from both the systems commands perspective as well as the fleet perspective. Our engineers have supported development of Concept of Operations for Theater Air and Missile Defense and Land Attack Systems. They have also supported the verification of concepts and requirements through the Fleet Battle Experiment program. Our engineers are involved in the requirements definition for shipboard maintenance and training requirements due to the introduction of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) systems on ships.

  • System Design, Engineering and Integration
AMSEC LLC engineers and technicians support the system design, engineering and integration of all ship combat and C4I systems. We participate in peer review group design reviews for the AEGIS Shipbuilding program and review design of numerous C4I systems such as JMCIS, GCCS-M and IT 21. Our managers and engineers also support the acquisition managers in Naval Sea Systems Command and provide a fleet perspective for system design and integration.

  • Test and Evaluation
AMSEC LLC engineers support element, system, ship, and battle group test and evaluation for multiple customers. Our engineers develop in service, developmental and operational test plans for evolving systems, as well as participate in the execution of the tests and follow on data analysis and test plan production. Our engineers and technicians participate in the planning and execution of Combat Systems Ship Qualifications Trials (CSSQT), developmental and operational testing, and Distributed Engineering Plant (DEP) planning and execution. Our engineers have also been involved in congressionally mandated programs such as Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) for Navy ships.

  • Integrated Logistics Support
AMSEC LLC supports In Service Engineering customers with a world class logistics support organization. Our engineers draw on this organization to support maintenance philosophy and process development. With the transition to Commercial based technology (COTS), reduced manning and reduced budgets, proper logistics planning and execution becomes more important than ever in system development and support. AMSEC LLC logistician's are also involved in the development of new logistics concepts for Navy and Coast Guard programs. AMSEC LLC has developed an process for implementing this approach/strategy both in acquisition (concurrent logistics integration process (CLIP) - USCG integrated deepwater system) in-service (proactive maintenance (PAM) - the continuous improvement of the COMNAVSURFLANT maintenance function). All aimed at reducing total ownership costs.

  • Acquisition and Life Cycle Management
With our location at all major home ports AMSEC LLC engineers and technicians are well placed and connected to support the acquisition program offices and In Service Engineers for Life Cycle Management. Our support spans the spectrum from planning yard support (AMSEC LLC announces acquisition of M. Rosenblatt and Son, Inc.),to modernization planning and execution, installation support, training design and delivery and technical documentation development and support. AMSEC LLC maintains a substantial level of field engineering talent. Our technicians provide the Navy with technical assistance, equipment assessment, onboard operator and maintenance training and direct fleet support for maintenance, modernization and repair of a wide variety of shipboard components and systems. We support the Board of Inspection and Survey Underway Material Inspections (INSURV UMI), with Combat Systems Readiness Reviews, and fleet requested Direct Fleet Support (DFS).
