Industrial-mount Mobile Computer

The new PTC-890IM, is an industrial-mount mobile computer designed specifically for today's harsh and exacting industrial environments. The computer combines a 166 MHz Pentium processor, IEEE 802.11-compliant radio technology, and the open architecture of Window 98/NT. According to the manufacturer, this allows users to create customized applications, upgrade hardware, maximize efficiency, and lower the cost of ownership.

The PTC-890IM provides high-speed IEEE 802.11-compliant wireless LAN capability for reliable wireless transmissions, network interoperability, and terminal emulations. It is well suited for use in industries that include warehousing/distribution, transportation/logistics, manufacturing, and law enforcement.

The machine comes standard with a high-performance 10.4-in. color-active matrix touchscreen display that is heat resistant, and can function in a variety of different lighting and temperature environments.

The machine also features vehicle-mount or fixed- wall mount kit options. It is designed with a heavy-duty, NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturing Association)-style case that can protect critical components from extreme environmental conditions and day-to-day wear and tear.
