Intellibridge Corporation Management Appointments Announced
Topping the list of these promotions is the recent appointment of Rear Admiral Steven G. Smith (USN-Ret.) to the post of CEO at Intellibridge. Smith, who joined the firm as President and COO in early 2003 following a 34 year career in the Navy, assumes the duties that Rothkopf has held since the firm's establishment in 1998. "The best thing I did in my six years at Intellibridge was hire Steve Smith," said Rothkopf, "he brings an extraordinary understanding of the needs of our senior-level clients and a commitment to offering our audience of users the highest quality expert analysis."
During Smith's career in the Navy, he held a number of senior posts playing key leadership roles throughout his distinguished Navy career. As a Flag Officer, he has served as Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy; Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Plans, Policy, and Operations (N3/5B); Commander, Amphibious Group THREE; Director of Strategy and Plans (J5), U.S. Pacific Command; and Director Office of Program Appraisal for the Secretary of the Navy. He retired from the Navy on 1 January 2003.
"Steve has achieved a great deal during his first year as President of Intellibridge, adding important new clients and services to our business. The board and I have every confidence that under his leadership the firm will continue to build on its role as an acknowledged leader in the provision of expert analysis and web-based open-source intelligence collection and assessment."
Joining Smith as part of Intellibridge's leadership team will be newly appointed Senior Vice President Ron Buikema. Lt. Col. Buikema served as an Intelligence Officer with the United States Marine Corps for over twenty years prior to joining Intellibridge in mid-2003. During his military career, he served in a number of key strategic and operational assignments, and is recognized for his extensive experience in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations. His assignments included serving as Commander of the Joint Interagency Interrogation Facility, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Chief of Intelligence Operations, United States Southern Command; Commander of the U.S. Landing Force for Southeast Asia; Chief of Intelligence Operations, III Marine Expeditionary Force; Director of Intelligence for the United Nations Mission in Haiti and Military Advisor for the Special Representative to the Secretary General of the United Nations; and Tactical Branch Chief, Central America Joint Intelligence Team (El Salvador). He was also instrumental in executing an aggressive reformation of Marine Corps intelligence following Operation Desert Storm.
"Ron has brought new vitality and creativity to our sales and marketing efforts during the past year and he will be absolutely central to the future success of the company," said Admiral Smith. "He comes from the intelligence community, is a career intelligence officer and is uniquely well-suited to understanding the special needs of our clients."
Intellibridge also announced the appointment of Jim Dentzer as Chief Financial Officer. Dentzer comes to Intellibridge from Adler Media, Inc., a McLean-based worldwide distributor of television documentaries, where he served as director of finance and administration for nine years. Prior to Adler Media, Mr. Dentzer held the top accounting positions in a Ft. Washington, MD online services company and a DC-based graphics design firm specializing in corporate annual reports. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dentzer, who is a licensed attorney as well as a CPA, practiced law in New York and the District of Columbia. He holds a JD from Pace University School of Law and a BA from Oberlin College.
"With these management appointments, and the addition of a number of very talented analysts to the team in our new Georgetown Operations Center," said Smith, "I believe that Intellibridge is very well equipped to continue our rapid growth in the years ahead while constantly striving to improve and enhance the quality and range of services we offer our clients." Added Rothkopf, "the firm has never been stronger in terms of talent and our expectations for growth in 2004 and beyond are extremely high."
