JAD Facilitation & Requirements Gathering Seminar for Data Driven Projects and/or Legacy Systems- 4 days

Source: Pierson Applications Development
The seminar focuses on the concepts of the JAD requirements gathering process and how to be an effective facilitator. The workshop provides an understanding of modeling techniques for project planning, scoping, requirements and design.
The Joint Application Development (JAD) Facilitation & Requirements Gathering Seminar for Data Driven Projects and/or Legacy Systems focuses on how to manage and gather requirements for IT projects. The seminar provides business analysis modeling and facilitation techniques needed for capturing the artifacts for the Project Life Cycle: Planning, Requirements and Design. The seminar is broken into three parts: facilitation skills, building business models and how to conduct facilitated sessions with supporting meeting agendas, scripts and templates. The seminar provides practical experience in facilitation and presentation skills and demonstrates agendas for Project Planning, Scoping, Business Requirements Gathering sessions and Design Focus Groups.

Each participant receives a JAD Facilitator Kit with agendas, scripts and templates, a JAD Procedures Guide and a Seminar Handbook. To schedule on-site training call (203) 322-1606 or e-mail us at wpierson@piersonapp.com. Visit our site on the web at http://www.piersonapp.com.

Objectives

The objectives of the seminar are to:

  • Provide an understanding of the Software Life Cycle, methodology and artifacts needed for data driven and/or legacy system projects
  • Define the Rapid Application Development Process, describe the Spiral vs. Waterfall Method, Success Factors and how to plan projects using the RAD approach
  • Supply sample agendas and scripts describing how to capture the JAD deliverables throughout the Discovery Phase
  • Provide practical group exercises for building models and facilitating the Information Engineering and Structured Analysis artifacts used for data driven and/or legacy system projects
  • Simulate the requirements gathering and design process by giving each seminar participant the opportunity to facilitate specific agendas and receive instructor and participant feedback
