Lowry Computer Products Wins Goverment BPA Award For RFID-EPC Class 1 Tags

Lowry Computer Products, a leading provider of RFID-EPC, bar code, wireless and data collection solutions, today announced the award of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) from the Army Contracting Agency (ACA) Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4), for passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Electronic Product Code (EPC) -1 tags.

The BPA is intended to provide all of the Department of Defense (DoD) branches with access to a state-of-the-art common, integrated structure for logistic identification, tracking, locating, and monitoring of commodities and assets. Use of this technology is also intended to assist in data collection, storage information, retrieval methods, information processing, and transmission of tag data across all branches of the DoD.

The Government's requirement is to affix passive RFID EPC-1 Class 1 tags in varying sizes to a wide variety of substrates such as fiberboard, plastic, wood and glass.

According to the ACA ITEC4, RFID EPC-1 technology will provide standardization and interoperability requirements among all Government users of passive RFID EPC-1 tags and components.
