Luthin Associates Wins Contract From NYS Energy Research And Development Authority
Avon-By-The-Sea, NJ - Luthin Associates, Inc., an award-winning energy management consulting firm serving clients throughout the New York metropolitan area and around the country, has been awarded a three-year FlexTech contract by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
Luthin Associates was one of a number of firms selected through a competitive bidding process to supply a range of energy procurement assistance and energy analysis services to businesses and organizations within New York State.
NYSERDA's Flexible Technical Assistance program — known as FlexTech — provides financial and technical support to businesses or organizations seeking to implement cost-effective energy efficiency measures or energy purchasing strategies. Participating entities work with NYSERDA-approved consultants to conduct a study that identifies particular measures that hold the greatest potential for energy savings. NYSERDA will cover half the cost of the study. Depending on the service territory in which the participating organization is located, organizations may receive as much as $100,000 toward study costs.
The NYSERDA staff works with program participants and FlexTech consultants to ensure that the energy study meets all parties' needs. Luthin Associates will also help participating organizations competitively purchase electricity, and develop and track energy budgets.
The program covers seven categories of energy efficiency services including engineering feasibility and technical assistance studies, detailed analyses of specific energy efficiency projects, process improvements, and rate analysis, load shapes, and energy service aggregation.
Additionally, FlexTech includes engineering in support of project-financing proposals, development of long-term capital budget strategies for the upgrade or replacement of energy-consuming equipment, and retro-commissioning of energy-efficiency measures in existing buildings.
