MAXIMUS Awarded More Contracts To Provide Ticket-to-Work Services

Reston, VA - MAXIMUS announces the award of two contracts by the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) to administer elements of the SSA's nationwide Ticket-to-Work (TTW) program.

MAXIMUS has been awarded a five-year, $49.2 million contract to serve as the Ticket Program Operations Support Manager, as well a one-year $1.8 million contract to manage the TTW Data Operations Center. The second contract contains options for extension during two additional years that, if exercised, will bring the total value of the second contract to more than $5.5 million. Both of these contracts are to provide services and support for all 50 states and the U.S. territories.

Under the "Ticket Program Operations Support Manager" contract, MAXIMUS will administer a toll-free call center and electronic mail response capability to answer program beneficiary questions and make appropriate referrals. Additionally, MAXIMUS will administer and support the assignment of Program Tickets and the payment processing for the Program's Employment Networks. This work is a continuation of the Program implementation begun by MAXIMUS in the Company's initial contract with SSA in 2000.

As the TTW "Data Operations Center Manager," MAXIMUS provides the necessary data center and system support to ensure the continuity and seamless operation of the Program and coordination of key Ticket program participants including SSA beneficiaries, Employment Networks, State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies, Program vendors, and the SSA itself.

MAXIMUS CEO Lynn Davenport said, "These awards continue our work with a valued and longstanding client. Our work in the Ticket Program serving disadvantaged and underserved populations during the last five years has been very gratifying. We believe this work embodies the important return-to-work mission that we share with SSA, and truly makes a difference in the lives of individuals and families."

The Ticket-to-Work Program legislation (Public Law 106-170) addresses a number of barriers that Social Security disability beneficiaries encounter in obtaining jobs and continuing to work by expanding the availability of health care services and coverage, eliminating certain work disincentives providing for enhanced benefits planning and assistance from other public and private sources, and creating the SSA's Ticket-to-Work and Self-Sufficiency Program. The Ticket Program provides beneficiaries with disabilities more choices for receiving employment services and increases provider incentives to serve beneficiaries with disabilities who want to work.
