FieldGo R9 Features Fault Resilient, Redundant Design With Pentium® III or 4 Processors and Sunlight Readable 15.4" Display

Broadax Systems, Inc. announced the immediate availability of their new FieldGo R9 portable computer. This ultra-rugged multi-slot portable PC brings workstation power, to any field environment or portable application. With 7 expansion slots, including 4 full-length PCI slots, the FieldGo R9 computer is configurable for the most power hungry applications in the industrial, test, data acquisitio n, networking and communications markets.

The FieldGo R9 is powered by full 'industrial spec' Intel® Pentium® III or 4 processors for redundant fault reliability providing up to 1.5GHz with 133MHz front-side bus speed. Broadax's new portable computer is designed for the more arduous environments using an all-aluminum chassis, NEMA 4/12 keyboard, and 15.4" 1280 x 1024 active matrix, sunlight readable and shatter resistance display, making this one of the most powerful and most survivable portables on the planet. The unit is compatible with any Windows Operating Systems, Linux and other UNIX operating systems, as well as Open VMS.

With four shock-isolated drive bays for hard drives, removable media, DVD, CD-ROM, CDRW, or other storage devices drives, up to 2 GB memory, two serial, two USB, one parallel, PS2 mouse and keyboard, 300W 440Hz 110/220 VAC ATX power supply, and optional UPS PCI card the FieldGo R9 is as comfortable on the aircraft, or military applications as in any industrial, automotive, electronics test and telecommunications labs.

Raw processing power by itself is useless without adequate room for expansion, and the FieldGo R9 does just that by providing the most slots in its class with 7 slots for PCI, ISA, and AGP cards, including 4 full-length expansion slots - ideally suited field workstation, test & measurement, or data collection platforms. Besides easy user-adaptability, cards put into the slots are held in place by an advanced card retention system equipped with three separate hold-downs. Electrodynamics shock and vibration testing results showed that even heavily populated double-sided add-in cards successful ly survived more than 10g's operating shock and 0.41grms vibration ensuring reliable operation.

Price And Availability
The FieldGo R9 family of products is currently available with single/dual Pentium® III or Pentium® 4 processors in 5-7 business days ARO. Single processor with 15.4" LCD screen models start as low as $5,565 for a 600 MHz version.
