The United States Department of Energy's Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management awarded Quality Service Associates, Inc. (QSAI) a one-year contract with 2 one-year options to provide oversight of the DOE's Yucca Mountain High Level Nuclear Waste Repository Quality Assurance Program. The contract is valued at $1,273,306. This is a contract renewal for activities that QSAI has successfully performed for the past five years.

Founded in 1982 by Clyde D. Morell, QSAI is a Native American-owned business staffed by professionals who have led and participated in a wide variety of environmental, safety, health, engineering, management, administrative, and regulatory projects. QSAI is a service consulting company engaged in the development and technical support of Quality Programs such as Total Quality Management and Quality Process Improvement. QSAI deploys timely, high-quality, and cost-effective support to Federal agencies and private/commercial clients.

QSAI's capabilities include support for the evaluation and development of nationally recognized quality management programs, as well as occupational safety and health (OSH) programs. QSAI is involved with the OSHA/DOE Voluntary Protection Process (VPP) and the new OSHA Ergonomic standard. We also support clients by consulting on OSH policy agreements and rulemaking activities; analysis and prioritization of generic safety issues; regulatory analysis, settlement agreements, safety policy analysis and development; environmental and waste management; environmental site assessments; sampling and remediation strategies; nuclear regulation and rulemaking activities; external regulation of nuclear facilities; and, management and organizational assessments.
