Sapphire Technologies Launches Government IT Staffing Division

Vienna, VA - In response to increasing demand and sales in the government sector, Sapphire Technologies, a member of Vedior North America, has launched a targeted division to address the IT staffing needs of this market. The new branch, Sapphire Government Technologies (SGT), will focus on providing quality IT consultants to government system integrators as well as local, state and federal agencies. Headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, SGT will be directed under the strategic leadership of Carol Cornman, Senior Vice President of Sapphire Technologies. Cornman will oversee the tenured management team of Sapphire Vice President Kathy McNabb and Branch Manager Carl Ressa. McNabb and Ressa will work together to supervise and direct the dedicated recruiters and account managers that will service clients in the Washington, DC metro area.

The decision to create the SGT division was based on the existing success of Sapphire Technologies in the government sector as well as requests for additional services from key clients. With steady increases in federal IT spending, the company felt that it could best meet these needs with a separate, government-focused division. Recent estimates from industry analysts speculate that contracting and outsourcing in the government market will grow 7% annually with IT spending estimated to rise from $70.7 billion this fiscal year to $91.4 billion by 2010. This overall market growth, coupled with the escalating demand for cost cutting measures and the need to replace retiring employees, has created significant opportunity in the government sector. The new division is well poised to provide the needed talent and service required. SGT will build upon Sapphire's proficiently developed operational and reporting systems to satisfy government requirements. With an established General Services Administration (GSA) schedule and cleared security capabilities, SGT has the tools and the talent to efficiently and effectively fill positions for information and security sensitive projects.

"SGT will draw upon Sapphire's proven track record of success in delivering top IT quality candidates to mission critical job openings," explained Carol Cornman. "We have already exceeded our anticipated 2006 sales projections and we anticipate that through continued enhancement of existing relationships, SGT will continue to achieve strong growth and success."

As a member of the Vedior group of companies, SGT will also be able to leverage the expertise and success of its sister affiliates, such as Locum Medical Group's Government Division. Locum has a strong and well defined reputation of contractual service to local, state and federal medical facilities through the continental United States. The SGT division will build upon the experience and relationships that this group has accrued to help it in establishing market share. In addition, SGT will also be able to offer its clients connections to expert staffing in virtually all specialties through the services of the various Vedior NA brands.
