Security Services Northwest Joins Contract With Foss, SMIT Salvage

Sequim,WA /PRNewswire/ - Security Services Northwest (SSNW) is joining with Foss Maritime as sub-contractors in support of a five-year contract that SMIT Salvage Americas, LLC, has won with the U.S. Navy.

Joe D'Amico, SSNW President, has received confirmation from Douglas Martin, SMIT Salvage President and General Manager, that SMIT won two five-year contracts to provide emergency assistance to U.S. Navy ships in distress, in all parts of the world other than the Atlantic Region. SSNW is listed as a small business provider to SMIT.

SMIT Salvage is one of the world's largest salvage companies offering worldwide marine emergency response coverage to private enterprise and governments. Optimal care for the environment is a company priority. SMIT Salvage will provide the U.S. Navy with marine salvage, salvage-related towing, ocean engineering and to wage services in the event of an emergency or incident in two of the world's geographic zones.

Headquartered in Sequim, Washington, SSNW has worked previously with Foss Maritime to provide maritime security for Navy, government and privately-owned vessels. SSNW is capable of standing up a Counter Assault Team of personnel trained to deny opposing force ability to adversely affect the protected area and to protect client's employees and assets.

SSNW has performed hundreds of successful security missions on vessels underway and at pier side facilities. SSNW clients have included the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, public ports and shipyards in Washington, Oregon and California, Foss Maritime, and gangway security for Sea River Maritime and Alaska Tanker Company when ships need emergency repairs or have additional security requirements.

Foss Maritime, which was founded in 1889 and has a shipyard in Seattle, provides a variety of green and blue water services throughout North America and around the world.
