Hoffman Estates, IL -- Syclo announced its Mobile FacilityCenter by Syclo product has been deployed at the third largest county government in the U.S., Harris County, home to Houston. Syclo partnered with TRIRIGA and systems integrator Gilbane i.management, a division of Gilbane Building Company, which managed the implementation, to extend critical functionality of Harris County's TRIRIGA FacilityCenter 8i system to mobile handheld devices.

Harris County has long sought to be the premier county-level facilities and property management department in the U.S. To help achieve this mission, Harris County migrated to the newest version of FacilityCenter by TRIRIGA to optimize their facilities operations. A critical phase of this was to deploy a mobile capability to streamline maintenance work management. The Facility and Property Management (FPM) organization at Harris County looked to Syclo to provide its best-in breed mobile solution, to not only bring in the strongest technology but to do so on time and within budget.

"It is imperative that we maintain our facilities to a very high standard while using our taxpayer dollars at a maximum efficiency," said Randy Moore, Deputy Director of the Harris County Facilities and Property Management Department. "Mobile FacilityCenter helps us realize that mission by giving our facilities group accurate information, and enabling our maintenance staff to complete more work during the day."

Mobile FacilityCenter by Syclo was designed to manage work order assignment, timekeeping, and work order closure using a handheld device. By eliminating paperwork, Mobile FacilityCenter by Syclo delivers significant productivity gains and improves data collection to enable more timely and accurate information to populate FacilityCenter. Using ruggedized Symbol PocketPC devices, Harris County's facilities craftspeople and technicians receive work task assignments, record time and status against work tasks, and communicate work task closure to FacilityCenter 8i in a streamlined process.

"Syclo has staked their market-leading position for mobilizing FacilityCenter," explained William Bryan, Director of i.management services at Gilbane. "Syclo was able to add significant value to the project with their proven mobile technology and their services team, which was able to navigate a challenging implementation in a dynamic and complex environment. They not only delivered everything they promised in terms of product capability, but they remained flexible throughout the changing process of getting the system up and running."

"When TRIRIGA provides the best-in-class facilities management applications, it is imperative that our partners deliver the same standard," said Mark Peterson, TRIRIGA's Vice President of Professional Services. "FacilityCenter 8i is a leading new architecture, and it speaks volumes that Syclo not only kept Mobile FacilityCenter concurrent with our releases, but was able to support the customer in such an efficient manner. We all had mutual dependencies, and as a partner, Syclo did a wonderful job working with us, Gilbane, and most critically, Harris County."

Richard Padula, President and CEO of Syclo added, "Mobile FacilityCenter is built on Syclo's Agentry platform, which provides implementation partners like Gilbane with a proven tool to quickly and easily implement and maintain future-proof mobile solutions that meet customer requirements. Agentry also supports the integration of different backend systems, so Harris County can extend mobile to other areas within the county's operations, and still be supported by the same mobile platform. These capabilities will serve Harris County in its efforts to maintain the quality of excellence in county facilities."

Syclo's Agentry development platform has been in development for more than ten years, and supports a wide variety of devices, offers extensive offline functionality, communicates in real-time or in occasionally connected environment, and works with the latest device peripherals, including RFID, GIS, GPS and more. Agentry has been recognized in recent industry analyst reports as a truly cutting-edge solution for enterprises that want to build-out their mobile strategies by developing and deploying multiple mobile applications based on a single platform.
