Tidemark Solutions
Founded in 1984 as Tidemark Computer Systems, its original application was designed for agencies seeking to process permits and related procedures more efficiently. The company released its first standard application, called PERMIT*PLAN in 1986, providing government agencies with an off-the-shelf solution. Today Tidemark Solutions offers a range of solutions that allow its customers to provide integrated services to both internal and external resources, using LAN, WAN, Internet and Wireless Internet technologies.
Over the years, Tidemark has continued to introduce new products and services to meet demand for more efficient processes and better access to government services. A major strength of the various solutions offered by Tidemark is that they are web-based and directly linked to an industrial-strength, rules-based Workflow Engine. Everyday, both citizens and businesses become more accustomed to using the Internet and digital technology in everyday transactions. Spurred by a number of technology initiatives on the city, county, state and federal levels, jurisdictions of all sizes have recognized the importance of providing streamlined services - and providing them via the Internet.
In response to this demand, Tidemark has introduced its newest offering, called Tidemark Click, under the managed service provider (MSP) business model. Tidemark Click combines the advantages of sophisticated, client-server software with the cost-effectiveness of a subscription-based hosted application service delivered via the Internet. Jurisdictions select from a set of subscription services to automate agency processes and optionally offer 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week government services to businesses and constituents. Leveraging over 15 years' experience developing custom and shrink-wrapped solutions, the company has designed Tidemark Click to target the government-to-business (G2B) and government-to-citizen (G2C) markets.
Tidemark Click provides jurisdictions with Internet access to automate everyday transactions such as building and planning permits, business and other licenses, field inspection and code enforcement, to name just a few. Additionally, Tidemark Click provides jurisdictions the option to provide their constituents' web-based access to apply and pay for permits and licenses, check status, comment on public projects or communicate with public officials. This service is designed to reduce resource requirements and simplify workflow for government employees and citizens.
Today, Tidemark Solutions provides software products and services to over 100 customers from Juneau, Alaska to Orlando, Florida. The company was named as the vendor-of-choice by the Bay Area's award-winning Smart Permit consortium, which encourages economic development by implementing advanced technologies that speed permit processing across city and county lines.
Tidemark Solutions is privately held and funded primarily by a private offshore investment fund, Chartwell Capital Management, and the National Information Consortium (NASDAQ: egov), the world's leading e-government solutions provider. The company is based in Seattle, Washington and employs more than 100 people.
