Tyler Technologies Awarded Two Education Management Solution Contracts In Virginia

Dallas, TX - Tyler Technologies, Inc. announced recently that it has signed contracts to provide Tyler's Education Management solution to two school districts in Virginia. Charlottesville City Public Schools and Culpeper County Public Schools will each implement a comprehensive suite of products from Tyler's school information solutions.

Under the agreement, Tyler will provide both school systems with associated professional services, support and maintenance, in addition to software. The contracts bring the total number of districts in Virginia that have invested in the Tyler solution to five. Tyler's Education Management system is designed for the K – 12 schools market, and is compliant with the No Child Left Behind Act and the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF).

John S. Marr, Jr., president and CEO of Tyler Technologies, views these latest agreements as confirmation of Tyler's growth opportunity in the education market. "Tyler's Education Management solution offers a fully integrated system with rich functionality and impressive reporting capabilities to satisfy the specific needs of the education market. Culpeper County Public Schools and Charlottesville City Schools join an increasing number of school districts that have chosen to invest in our Education Management solution. We're pleased to welcome these new clients and look forward to continued growth both in Virginia and nationwide," he stated.

Assistant Superintendent for Culpeper County Schools, Eric Conti, commented on the District's decision to purchase Tyler's solution. "Tyler's Education Management software allows us to have a real time, Web-based database, and it will enhance our ability to have students sign up for courses online. We are looking forward to providing parents with access to their child's critical information. Moreover, we hope to tie more of our other systems—food service, transportation, reading and math monitoring programs, etc.—with Tyler's system to create useful reports from which to make data-driven decisions," he explained.

Located in Culpeper, Virginia, Culpeper County Public Schools educates approximately 7,400 students at eight schools. The growing district expects to open two additional schools in fall 2008. The District employs 1,063 staff, 535 of them teachers.

David Uhlig, supervisor of management information systems in Charlottesville, commented on Tyler Education Management's ability to improve the District's handling of essential student data. "Our legacy systems evolved out of a need to respond to state reporting requirements. However these systems lacked the ability to provide ready access to information required by school-level administrators, teachers and parents. Tyler's Education Management system is a comprehensive, next-generation student information system that is built upon the latest .NET technology. It will allow Charlottesville City Schools to deliver crucial information in a timely manner to those individuals who are directly responsible for the education of our students, while adhering to protecting the privacy of our student records. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with Tyler Technologies in our ongoing mission to provide a quality educational experience to each of our students," he said.

Charlottesville City Schools serves approximately 4,069 students from pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 at nine schools. The District employs 428 teachers.
