AAI's Ultra-Miniature High Power Data Transmitter represents an unique application of high power microwave bipolar transistor technology
AAI's Ultra-Miniature High Power Data Transmitter represents an unique application of high power microwave bipolar transistor technology, micro-miniature lumped element circuit design, and innovative hybrid circuit technology to produce an ultra-miniature Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) transmitter.
  • Ultra Miniature Design
      •(<3 cubic inches)
  • 200 Watt peak Output Capability
  • 2 to 3 GHz Range
      • (10% Tuning Band)
  • Direct CMOS Data Input
  • Single 12 Volt Supply
  • Modular Design for Flexibility
This unit is flexible. It has 10% tuning bandwidth in the 2 to 3 GHz frequency range with better than 2% stability. The tuning bandwidth may be adjusted to increase output power. Output power is 200 Watt peak over the tuning range. Higher powers are achievable over narrow tuning bandwidths. The frequency is set by a mechanical screw. The Ultra-Miniature High Power Data Transmitter uses unpackaged pulsed microwave bipolar transistors to allow the frequency bandwidth to be tailored to the requirement.

This PPM transmitter provides significant capabilities for embedded high reliability data communications requirements. AAI's innovative design yields a high power to weight ratio making it ideal for portable and airborne applications.

SUMMARY SPECIFICATIONS FOR PPM TRANSMITTER

The transmitter is a self contained unit for use in a Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) system. The unit is triggered from the rising edge of a CMOS signal and provides a fixed pulse width RF signal. The transmitter is supplied by a 12 volt DC source. The output signal frequency is set using a mechanical screw tuner.
