Reston, VA (PRWEB) March 31, 2009 -- Carahsoft Technology Corp., the trusted government IT solutions provider, today announced that it has been awarded a U.S. Department of Defense Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Adobe Server software and related services. Products offered through the contract include Adobe LiveCycle, ColdFusion, and Acrobat Connect.
The BPA is open for ordering by all Department of Defense (DoD) Components including the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (DoD IG), the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, the U. S. Coast Guard, NATO, and the Intelligence Community, among others.
"Adobe's software has become the solution of choice upon which agencies throughout the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community have come to rely for enabling secure, web-based communication and collaboration," said Pat Ward, District Manager for DoD Accounts for Adobe Systems Inc. "This BPA will provide these agencies with a streamlined vehicle for procuring the solutions they need to deliver high quality services while increasing staff productivity and streamlining information exchange."
Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite is an integrated server solution that blends data capture, information assurance, document output, process management and content services to help create and deliver rich and engaging applications that reduce paperwork, accelerate decision-making and help ensure regulatory compliance.
A large DoD agency relies on Adobe's LiveCycle document solution to support its employee check-in process. By speeding up the data entry process, automating the routing and protection of sensitive personal information electronically to the correct departments within seconds, a new employee can start working within hours of entering the building instead of days.
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) uses Acrobat Connect, Adobe's award-winning web-conferencing and eLearning platform. Its feature-rich, secure web communication is currently installed in more than 150 independent locations and supports thousands of DoD and Intelligence Community users worldwide.
"As Adobe's Master GSA Schedule holder, we recognize the importance of the ESI Program to our DoD customers and are pleased to make Adobe's Enterprise and Server solutions available to them," said Craig P. Abod, Carahsoft president.
