Washington D.C. (PRWEB) - After years of planning and development, the One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services or OASIS, has started to break ground. OASIS currently has 123 small businesses in the program and plans to incorporate more in the coming months. The General Services Administration (GSA) plans to create an option where vendors can join the OASIS contract, as well as leave it when they see fit. According to Deltek, a research firm of out of Virginia, the OASIS contract will account for close to $60 billion per year in federal contract spending. The OASIS small business contract is a multiple award contract that is indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity. This type of government spending allows agencies using the OASIS contract to set aside funds for projects that are just for small businesses. This method of spending will ultimately lead to increased organization, less wasted funding, and more contracts devoted to small businesses.

The OASIS small business contract has a 100% set-aside goal that will just be issued to 8(a) Program businesses, HUBZone businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned businesses, Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned/Woman-Owned businesses and small businesses. The OASIS small business contract looks to help increase the small business goal for each individual federal set-aside.

As stated in the Federal Times, “OASIS is a Government Wide acquisition Contract (GWAC) that offers professional services such as: financial management, engineering, scientific, and logistics services that agencies can tap to augment their own staffs.” Businesses that wish to bid on the OASIS small business contracts when it begins must first be properly registered in System for Award Management (SAM). SAM is the official government system that consolidates the capabilities of the previously used databases of CCR/FedReg, ORCA and EPLS. It is federally mandated that every contractor who wants to work for the government and bid on government contracts must be properly registered in SAM. It is encouraged that every business registers in SAM before they start bidding on government contracts.

US Federal Contractor Registration is currently assisting business owners that need to become registered in SAM and or wish to learn more about government contracts like the OASIS small business program.
