U.S. General Services Administration Awards Unisys Blanket Purchase Agreement To Provide Cloud-Based Email Solutions To Federal, State, Local And Tribal Governments

Unisys named one of 17 companies to compete for task orders under GSA blanket purchase agreement with an estimated ceiling value of $2.5 billion

Blue Bell, PA /PRNewswire/ - Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that it was awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to compete for task orders for cloud-based services for email, collaboration, office automation, electronic records management and other functions.

Unisys was one of 17 cloud service companies selected to provide these services under a GSA BPA with an estimated ceiling value of $2.5 billion. This indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity BPA, open to all U.S. federal agencies as well as state, local and tribal governments, has a two-year base period followed by three one-year option periods exercisable at the discretion of the government.

By using the GSA BPA, agencies can cut the time and money needed to develop and implement their own procurements for cloud-based services.

Under the new government-wide BPA, Unisys will offer two cloud options to agencies. It will offer a "community cloud" – a cloud that can be accessed by multiple organizations with similar missions – based on Google Apps for Government. Unisys also will offer a private cloud solution – one dedicated specifically for use within a single agency – based on Microsoft Corp.'s Microsoft Office 365.

"This BPA allows agencies at all levels of government to take advantage of Unisys' experience helping government agencies reap the benefits of moving their email and collaboration solutions to the cloud," said Venkatapathi "PV" Puvvada, group vice president for civilian agencies at Unisys Federal Systems. "And by offering both community and private cloud solutions on two of the leading cloud email platforms, we are positioned to address the specific needs of agencies regardless of their size or mission."

Last year, GSA became the first federal agency to move to a cloud-based email system under a separate contract with Unisys. Unisys also has successfully moved several other federal agencies to cloud-based email and collaboration platforms. Besides GSA, Unisys this year migrated employees at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory to Google Apps for Government.

Forward-looking Statements
Any statements contained in this release that are not historical facts are forward-looking statements as defined in the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. All forward-looking statements rely on assumptions and are subject to various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from expectations. In particular, under a BPA, such as the one described in this press release, there is no guarantee that the government will award any task orders. Further, because agreements with government agencies are terminable before the end of their terms and are subject to the availability of appropriated funds, there is no guarantee that the BPA will continue for its full term or that any awarded task orders will continue for their full term. Additional discussion of factors that could affect Unisys future results is contained in periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
