Automating The Processing Of County Government Jury Questionnaires
3/28/2006
With 300-500 questionnaires to process every day, manual data entry was a tedious, time-consuming project for the operators at Orange County Courts (OCC). OCC was a longtime user of FileNet Capture, but they found that it did not have the capabilities to capture machine print, checkbox information, and barcodes, all of which are featured on the questionnaire. Seeking to reduce input time and lower data entry costs, OCC installed Datacap Components to add forms processing functionality to FileNet Capture. Submitted by Datacap

Nearline Goes Native: Tiered Storage With FC Disk Drives
2/28/2006
The advent of Fibre Channel (FC) prompted a new network paradigm: the storage area network (SAN). With every server able to see every storage device in an FC SAN, data accessibility skyrocketed-and network efficiency with it. Now tiered storage has rewritten the rules for FC storage efficiency, complementing established online and offline storage platforms with a third tier of nearline storage to cost-effectively house the rarely accessed but fundamentally essential data that's flooding the enterprise.
