In January 2007, the Desert Migration Project embarked on a five-week expedition to the heart of the Sahara desert in search of man’s evolutionary past and to map and record the environmental changes in the now inhospitable region of the Sahara. The expedition team selected the state-of-the-art GoBook XR-1 fully rugged notebook from General Dynamics to analyze satellite images, store data, and maintain communications.
